Tonya Richard

Tonya is from Lake Charles, Louisiana, and attended McNeese State University. She has 21 years of healthcare experience. Tonya joined Imperial Health in 2000 and held several management positions with the group before being named Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2020. As COO, her responsibilities include advising the organization in providing leadership and planning direction; planning and coordinating both patient and non-patient care services; developing and monitoring organizational policy in conjunction with management personnel and the executive board; overseeing a team of management personnel responsible for functional areas of the organization; human resources; information systems; ancillary services; staff credentialing services; facilities management; education and training; physician recruitment; organization contracting; and marketing. Tonya is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE). This designation is awarded by the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), the certification entity of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). She is an active member of MGMA and serves on several boards and committees for community organizations.
