Dr. Luke Williams, Pulmonologist, received praise for mentoring a group of McNeese nursing students during their clinical rotation in the ICU. After greeting them with a warm welcome, he patiently taught them about ventilators and lung disorders in the ICU. He also took the opportunity to encourage them in in their pursuit of the nursing profession and the high calling of caring for the sick. According to the Clinical Educator, all the students provided positive feedback regarding their tie spent with Dr. Williams. She said Dr. Williams inspired them to care for others.
One student was quoted as saying, “I really liked when the doctor came in to talk to us. It helped me to understand the way we are eventually going to be able to think, which was very fascinating. He really inspired me to be one of those nurses who pays extra attention to emotionally care for their patients.”
Congratulations to Dr. Williams for inspiring the next generation of nurses and for representing Imperial Health in such an honorable way.
