Megan Herring, DPM
Foot and Ankle Specialist, Resident

Foot and ankle specialist Megan Herring, DPM, has joined the CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency Program, which is a partnership with Imperial Healthís Center for Orthopaedics. She is the third doctor entering the program, which began in 2015.

Dr. Herring is originally from Carlisle, Arkansas. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas, and her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

The residency is a three-year, surgically oriented program in which Dr. Herring will focus on foot and ankle surgery and comprehensive podiatric medicine. Dr. Herring will receive intense training in CHRISTUS St. Patrickís operating rooms as well as at Imperial Calcasieu Surgical Center. She will also gain extensive direct patient-care experience in the areas of wound care, diabetic care, and podiatric research and will receive podiatric and orthopedic experience, including clinical and practice management in the hospital and office settings. Dr. Herring will also rotate in various specialties at CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital including emergency medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics and radiology. In addition, she will complete rotations through LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, which will give her advanced surgical and enhanced research experience in the field of podiatric medicine.

Because the residency is in collaboration with the Imperial Health Center for Orthopaedics (CFO), and the regionís largest musculoskeletal group, Dr. Herring will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced orthopaedic surgeons and specialists, and she will also work within the groupís Sports Medicine Program, which provides services to 14 area high schools.
