Free Community Seminar to Focus on Arthritis Treatment - Monday, February 3, 2014

West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital is hosting "Movement Improvement,” a free community seminar featuring specialists from the Center for Orthopaedics, an affiliate of Imperial Health, on Thursday, February 20, at 6 p.m. at L’Auberge Casino Resort’s Event Center in Lake Charles.

The doctors will be discussing advances in arthritis treatment for different joints in the body. Osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of the bones wears down over time, leading to pain and limiting activity. The number of people with arthritis is expected to increase significantly as Baby Boomers age into their 60s and beyond. Fortunately, tremendous advances in arthritis treatment have taken place in recent years, and several of those available locally will be explained, along with the causes and prevention of this condition.

Speakers and their topics for the seminar include:

Dr. John Noble Moderator

Dr. J. Trappey Shoulder Arthritis Treatment & Replacement

Dr. Steven Hale Knee Cartilage Restoration & Preservation

Dr. Jonathan Foret Partial & Total Knee Replacement

Dr. Kalieb Pourciau Treatment Advances in Foot & Ankle Arthritis

Refreshments will be served at the event, and educational information regarding different treatment options will be available. Pre-registration is requested and seating is limited. Call (337) 528-7426 for more information or to make a reservation.
