Dr. Timothy Gilbert Appointed To National Medical Advisory Panel - Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Timothy Gilbert, M.D., local endocrinologist with the Endocrinology Center of SWLA, an affiliate of Imperial Health, is one of six physicians from across the United States selected to serve on a National Advisory and Education Panel focused on instructing Endocrinologists and other medical professionals regarding the utilization of insulin pumps/artificial pancreas, continuous glucose sensors and other diabetes related technology. The project is sponsored by the Medtronic Diabetes Division, the world leader in insulin pump therapy and related technology.

Dr. Timothy Gilbert, a Lake Charles native and McNeese State University graduate, specializes in the treatment of endocrine diseases and disorders. Dr. Gilbert received his Doctor of Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at LSU Health Science Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, followed by an Endocrinology and Metabolism fellowship at Ochsner Health Systems in New Orleans, Louisiana

Dr. Gilbert has been in private practice for 7 years and currently manages over 500 insulin pump patients. He places a strong emphasis on early recognition and transition to insulin pump therapy in both Type I and Type II diabetics.

The Endocrinology Center houses an AADE Certified Diabetes Education Program and has previously been recognized by Medtronic as a Center of Excellence. Dr. Gilbertís medical practice is located at 721 Bayou Pines East in Lake Charles Louisiana.
