TITLE: Registered Nurse
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for providing
professional nursing care for patients in a nicotine treatment program
following established standards and practices.
Assists physician and nurse practitioner in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients,
staff and physicians.

EXERCISED: This position does not supervise any employees.
patient to exam rooms, weighs patients, takes blood pressure, and prepares
patients for visit.
in the intake and coordination of care of the patient during the treatment
receives and handles medically related phone calls as directed by
physicians. Nurse practitioner (RX's, patients, and other physicians).
exam rooms and doctors' offices clean, and maintain necessary supplies.
in preparing charge tickets, document fees, procedure codes, diagnosis
codes and other items as necessary.
and reassures apprehensive patients, assisting them with all Clinic
a variety of medically related tasks as directed by the physician/ nurse
receptionist in scheduling appointments as needed.
sure that all exam and special procedure rooms have biohazard and
patients in self-administration of medication, when appropriate.

Clinic policies for infection control in handling and disposing of
infectious/hazardous waste materials.

REQUIREMENTS: Registered Nurse license in Louisiana Will be
required to attend a Tobacco Treatment certification course and become a
certified tobacco treatment specialist.
medical office experience preferred but not required.

Must be able to prioritize multiple projects. Must maintain strict confidentiality and

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: requires continuous standing, sitting, frequent
walking, bending, and stooping. May
require lifting 50 to 100 pounds.
