Imperial Health Endocrinologist, Dr. Timothy Gilbert
recently presented a series of best practices and advanced medical professional
training to over 200 endocrinology healthcare providers at the 2014 Expert Forum
for Insulin Pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring Technology Conference, held
in Los Angeles, CA, January 24-25. The
event was sponsored by Medtronic Diabetes and Bayer Health Care.
Gilbert, a Lake Charles native and graduate of McNeese State University, was
one of the first physicians in the United States to utilize the new FDA
approved artificial pancreas technology.
Dr. Gilbert is one of six endocrinology specialists in the country
selected to serve on a national advisory and education panel focused on
instructing other physicians on how to utilize this type of advanced medical
technology. Dr. Gilbert speaks often,
both on a national and state-wide level, about the benefits of artificial
pancreas technology and insulin pump therapy.
